  • Interview With Darryl Lardizabal By Robert Phillips
    Tuesday, April 17, 2007
Robert Phillips says: Tell Me Little About Yourself

    Darryl Lardizabal darryllardizabal.com/blog says:
Hi Robert, I'd like to thank you for this great opportunity for the interview. Just in case your readers don't know me, I'm Darryl Lardizabal. I won't make any self-claims or any special names, so just call me Darryl. Just to give a few small tidbits about me, I am an internet marketing and network marketing coach with only a few select clients because I like to work on a highly personal basis. Just to give an example, one of my select clients was able to build a great network marketing organization with just one training idea and with it he easily produces $100,000 business partners within just 6 months time.
Because of some of these stuning results I highly value my time and especially theirs. I am highly selective with who I decide to work with and only work with those who feel the utmost need to succeed and are willing to compleley focus themselves using my practical and innovative advice. Many of my clients typically have to pass an online based interview process either through chat or e-mail in which I ask a series of questions to find my choice client. I'm not saying they have to be perfect, but they have to be true to their goals and highly motivated. This interview process eliminates those would-be clients who feel all they need is my advice to succeed than actually getting their hands a bit dirty and doing some work

Robert Phillips says: What set you apart from other marketers

    Darryl Lardizabal darryllardizabal.com/blog says:
Well it's hard to say what specifically sets me apart from the many marketers and consultants out in the world because I feel each one brings a unique set of skills to the table. Unlike many marketers, I am bold and daring and tend not to stick to tried and true techniques. I innovate and bend the traditional rules of marketing and forge new lines, new paths and roads that others follow. In other words, when everyone is taking the same successful path, I have created my own successful path.

Robert Phillips says: What marketing sources do you think have help you must with your success

    Darryl Lardizabal darryllardizabal.com/blog says:
Well, to think about that question, I really would never credit any one marketing source to my success because I believe that sort of narrow based thinking leads people to limit their marketing potential. For example, many people know that E-mail Marketing is a great method to market to many people, but it has also become spammed nearly to death. Many marketers are trying to innovate more and more and more and eventually the e-mail marketing will be such a hard marketing tactic to fully utilize to the untrained business man or business woman. If I really had to choose with one, and only one marketing path to choose I would go with Search Engine Marketing and Optimization as I believe that one source brings enormous amounts of WILLING viewers and most of the time buyers to your business, especially if it's based online
Robert Phillips says: What advice would you gave someone new to network marketing

    Darryl Lardizabal darryllardizabal.com/blog says:
first, get a good sponsor, a good sponsor who doesn't just know one method of marketing but many.

    Darryl Lardizabal darryllardizabal.com/blog says:
I say this because when I first started out, I wasn't a great one-on-one guy, h*ll I plain sucked at it. Yeah, I could talk to people but because I put too much thought into many of my past conversations with friends and family, they would skip to the next question on their minds, "How's the weather," instead of asking me more about my business. So, I turned to the next best choice and my true strength, the internet and learned many methods for prospecting and recruiting that my sponsor could not teach me. I feel a great sponsor can play on your strengths and what you currently know how to do. If your good with the internet, I as your sponsor would help you build your internet skills. If your good with personal one-on-one conversations, I would help you build your approaching and prospecting skils in that medium. And if you love to talk on the phone, than let's build that skill. See, using this way, I'm creating a comfortable business person who will be more inclined to not only stay in the business, but actually work the business because he/she doesn't have to change.

    Darryl Lardizabal darryllardizabal.com/blog says:
change is a scary thing especially in the mind's of a prospect and new business partner. if you had to change everything you do, would you really be in that business? wouldn't you want something easy because you already know a bit about the business and you don't have to change much? It's like trying a new food or just something different. Because we find it different, we fear it, and try to remove this fear, by never having to come against it.

Robert Phillips says: Tell me about your site your making

    Darryl Lardizabal darryllardizabal.com/blog says:
Sure Robert, I actually have my blog up online at darryllardizabal.com/blog and that alone will provide great content for those trying to build a great business web site that can actually convert traffic to buyers or business partners, for those trying to master the approaching, presenting, and training aspects of network marketing, to finding prospects for any business, to all sorts of other business information that my readers will ask from. Besides that blog I will begin a free and payment based newsletter specifically targeted to network marketers and internet marketers. The payment based newsletter not only includes just the newsletter but my exclusive forum community membership as well as other surprise bonuses that I cannot say. My blog will keep you updated on those projects as they come out, so constantly check back on it to get in on the action.

How To Build An Attraction Marketing Campaign For Your MLM Business
The MLM Industry is all about being attractive. People join people in the MLM industry. They don’t join companies, or products, or compensations plans. They join the person who educated them about all those things IF they are attracted to that person and believe they can help them to reach their goals.

When you understand the fundamentals of attraction marketing you can use these principles to your advantage to attract people to you.

Attraction marketing is all about branding yourself out in the industry. It’s about branding yourself as an expert into the minds of all your prospects. It works best when incorporated in your lead generation efforts on the internet.

When you are generating leads on the internet, they are usually being funneled into your back end campaign. Here is where your opportunity lies to incorporate attraction marketing.

In your back end, you can craft all the messages your prospects receive as “how to” messages rather then lame business opportunity pitches. When you TEACH your prospects how to do something, they will immediately be attracted to you for the value you have to offer.

In the back end campaign, that is where you get the chance to teach your prospects all that you know. On top of doing that, you also want to be sharing information about yourself so you can start the relationship building process. The more information you share that other people can “connect” with, the more they will relate to you and be attracted to you as a business partner and friend.

By teaching people “how to” information once you have them in the backend of your campaign, you are branding yourself as an expert in their mind, and have more credibility. Then by sharing parts of yourself which people can connect to you are deepening the relationship process. As relationships grow, you will find your network marketing organization becoming easier and easier to build.

    Dangerious Traffic
    Friday, April 6, 2007
If you aren’t careful, you will easily drop hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars on one campaign and get little or no results.

This isn’t the fault of Google - it just means that one of many components of your campaign aren’t converting as well as they should be.

For example, you have to worry about:

    -the keywords you bid on
-how much you pay per click
    -your ad headline
    -your ad copy
    -your landing page
    -your offer
    -your back-end follow-up

Think about it - you may have the right keywords and a great ad, but if your offer (i.e. the product you are promoting) is a loser, then you won’t make any money (or at least not enough to cover your ad costs).

Or the offer could be great, but you are paying too much per click, so you lose money.

Or your ad doesn’t convert well, so Google’s algorithms give you a lower position for the same price and decrease your potential earnings until your ad doesn’t hardly display at all.

Are you starting to see that it can be a little complex?

Well, it doesn’t have to be, and I want to show you why.

But first, there is one other reason that Google Adwords just might not be the best place to start for beginners - it requires patience!

    That’s right, patience.

It’s something that you must have as a business owner, but most beginners don’t. You want to see profits fast, not profits in a month or so.

And yet, the idea of Google Adwords promises quick results. You can have an ad up within a few minutes, and within 30 minutes afterwards it can be displaying on Google and getting you traffic.

However, this is the very problem of Google. Since it is so “quick” most people don’t try to do it effectively, relying on 2000 keywords and a poorly written ad to drive the traffic.

Here is a typical process of a beginner using Google (and sometimes experts as well):

    1. Go to Google.
    2. Create ad.
    3. Insert 2000 keywords that are related, somewhat related, and not related to your ad (using software and not even looking at the keywords).
    4. Run ad.
    5. Hope and pray.

Does that sound like a recipe for success? Or perhaps a recipe for disaster.

Would you like to know the process I use to get the lowest CPC (cost per click) and the higest click-through rates?

It’s quite simple actually, and it works each time.

    Here it is:

    1. Create my ad.
    2. Use 5-10 keyword phrases that are very targeted and highly-searched for.
    3. Add 20-50 negative keywords that describe what I am NOT looking for.
    4. Watch the traffic come in.

Top 10 Tips for a Successful Network Marketing Presentation
    Thursday, April 5, 2007
As network marketers, we often have important information to impart and our role in doing so is a major one. Many, many times I have had the pleasure of having people approach me to say how hearing me speak literally changed their lives due to the powerful message and the persuasiveness of the delivery. Most people in MLM are not trained presenters or salespersons but there are a few steps everyone can take to make sure their message has the best possible chance of being well received. Here are my top tips:

    1. KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE: Not every pitch will work for everyone so before you go to present the products or the business, whether it’s to just one person or to many, do a little research to ensure you’re presenting at the appropriate level. If your presentation is too lightweight, you’ll bore them; too in depth, you’ll confuse them. Either way, they will switch off and your vital words will fall on deaf ears.

    2. WIIFM: Yes, that old chestnut, but it’s worth repeating as it’s so often forgotten. Bearing in mind tip no. 1, what are the challenges faced by this person or this group of people? How does your business opportunity or your product solve their problems? Focus on answering these questions rather than trotting out the mechanics of your offering. Your audience must feel you’ve prepared your presentation specially for them, even if it’s essentially the same one you’re giving all the time.

    3. CONTINUALLY LEARN AND PRACTICE PRESENTING: One of the most important skills any network marketer can hone is that of becoming an accomplished speaker. It impacts so many other areas of your life as it massively increases your self-confidence. The more professionally you can deliver your message, the more readily it will be received, the more lives you will touch and the more money you will make in your business. Learning to present well is an investment in yourself and can give you the greatest return on the capital you’ve invested.

    4. HANDLE DISSENTERS WELL: One of the major fears I hear from network marketers is that of being faced with doubting prospects or those who dispute what they’re being told. Unfortunately, the tendency is to dig in and fight your corner but this can turn the discussion into an argument and work against you, especially if you’re giving a presentation in front of a group. When you’re faced with negativity, always start your answer with “That’s a very good question…” and continue with your viewpoint. Wherever possible, turn things around to make your audience right. Download a free “one-sheet crib sheet” on this important subject at http://www.laddersofsuccess.com.

    5. SHOW, DON’T TELL: Show the products you’re talking about. Let people feel, smell and see for themselves instead of just hearing what they are like. If you’re making a presentation about the business opportunity, remember that your company has probably done a lot to make things easier for you. Make sure you get the prospecting materials they offer, show the pictures of the top distributors, talk about them as if they are real people .

    6. LET YOUR GUARD DOWN: People buy from those they know, like and trust. How can they do any of this if you won’t let them get to know the real you. You don’t have to be perfect, you can talk about your own challenges, beliefs, family, hopes and dreams. Doing so gives your prospects more opportunity to identify with you so you can use the similarities to build rapport.

    7. STORIES INSTEAD OF FACTS: When we get excited about our products, we often delve into the features of the products, what works and why. This is all very exciting once you’ve had your first wonderful product experience, but it doesn’t make for a very exciting lead-in to your presentation. People want to know about results. They want the bottom line. There’s plenty of time to get to the detail later but to start this way could send most of your prospects to sleep (apart from the professors in the audience, of course). The best way to illustrate what your products or business opportunity can do is through telling stories. Use your own story or a case study of someone you know. Use emotive words. Remember, not just the facts, the feelings too.

    8. MAKE ‘EM LAUGH: When people laugh they feel more relaxed and amenable. Every situation has a humorous side and if you’re telling a tragic story your prospects will welcome the respite that comes with a moment of levity. The golden rule is to move people: make ‘em laugh, make ‘em cry, then they buy. This is something I aim to do in every presentation because it means I’ve moved my audience emotionally. I appreciate this is an advanced technique, but if you learn how to do it, you’ll increase your success rate exponentially.

    9. DON’T TELL – ASK: Instead of telling your prospects everything, get them answering questions. Rather than saying “Did you know that only 1% of people retire financially free?”, ask them “What percentage of people do you think retire financially free?”. This gets your prospects involved and if you word your questions correctly, you’re coaching them to the purchase decision rather than having to push them into buying. This is a technique I teach that I’ve perfected over the years. It works great for network marketers and women and I call it “pull selling”.

    10. GIVE A REASON TO ACT NOW: Again, not being salespersons, many network marketers give a great presentation and then wimp out without asking for the order. Your prospect’s motivation will never be higher than it is at that moment so make sure you use this to your advantage. Think of reasons why they should place their order today. Some possible reasons might be because you are offering a special bonus OR prices are about to increase OR there’s an order deadline coming up so they’ll get their goods sooner OR you’re placing an order too so they’ll save on the postage OR you’re offering a discount on orders placed today OR you’re seeing someone else who could become a distributor and will go beneath them. Whatever it is, tell them, and secure the sale.
